bio of
McKenna Andrews

McKenna’s story begins at age 9, after enduring Hurricane Katrina, she penned her first children’s book entitled,‘Riding The Storm Out.’ (Storm, based on the true story of dolphins swept from their oceanarium and into the Gulf) garnered her a 2006 Mom’s Choice Award & National Acclaim.

McKenna also began playing guitar at age 9. She wrote her first song at age 10 and it was featured in Entro Magazine. Shortly thereafter, she relocated to music-rich East TN and began studying vocals under Opera Singer Jim Wilson & The Alexander Technique with Vocal Coach Charlotte Anderson. She also began a path to further her guitar skills in both acoustic, electric and lead guitar styles by choosing Guitar Phenom Terry McCoy as her guitar teacher whom she has studied under for 6 years.

At age 13, she attended The Nashville NAMM and filmed an infomercial for NTune Guitar Systems and began playing songwriter nights at The Nashville Palace, The Listening Room, and The Commodore Lounge.

While most girls were cheerleading, McKenna was jamming with Michael Kelly Smith, (former lead guitarist of Cinderella and Britny Fox), opening up at NASCAR events and for National Acts - Great White and Firehouse, and playing Songwriter Open-Mic Nights weekly. She has regularly performed at charity events for Susan G. Komen and Speedway Children’s Charities and is a regular performer at The Hard Rock Cafe Gatlinburg.

While she can sing and play any style of music, it’s country music where McKenna is in her element. McKenna’s recent demo project 'Who Knew' produced by Grammy Nominated Producer Travis Wyrick, is a testament to her abilities and skills as an artist.

15-year-old McKenna Andrews is the triple-threat!  She's a dynamic singer, songwriter and guitarist who brandishes the charisma and unique style to appeal to a wide range of music lovers and commercial interests. She has a wide-ranging vocal talent covering 2.5 octaves, similar to Miranda Lambert, Adele, Pink, Janice Joplin and Kelly Clarkson -but- in her own unique vocal style with the guitar riffs to match.
