bio of
Barry Creek

Barry Creek was raised in Jonesborough TN in a musical family. He got his first guitar at age 6 and began teaching himself to play from a simple chord book. He began writing his own songs around the age of 14 and performed one of his original songs for the first time at his high school talent show during his sophomore year. Joining the U.S. Navy out of high school gave him the claim to international performer as he played at many “ports of call” while on liberty during a Mediterranean tour. The most memorable of these being a set in with an Italian band for a new years gig at the Santa Lucia Hotel in Naples Italy where the Italian people loved him and nicknamed him “Bambino” because of his youthful appearance. After his military service he continued to write and perform. He hooked up with fellow singer/songwriter Bryan Radek in Charlotte, N.C. and they co-produced a vinyl “45” under the name of ‘The Radek/Creek Project’. Relocating to Atlanta in the mid 80’s he and his wife performed together in the “Atlanta Regional Choir”. During that same time period he performed on stage with Joe South (writer of “Games People Play”) at the Atlanta CMA awards ceremony and was a member of the Memphis Music Association. His greatest sense of musical accomplishment is seeing the enjoyment others receive through his music and knowing the legacy he will someday leave his posterity.
