Sarah Motes Ashley is a singer/songwriter from Maryville, Tennessee. Sarah won the 2015 SMSWF Song Competition Grand Prize for her song “Feel This Way”. She’s signed more than 25 songs to sync contracts around the world and has licensed songs to such cable TV shows as “Born this Way,” “Bad Girls Club” and even “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” as well as internet and TV ads; she also has a few indie cuts in the works. She writes pop, country, jazz, musical theater, and Christian songs. She will perform at the Festival this year with her girl group “Blesser Heart.”
Sarah loves the Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival. Sarah began entering songs in the SMSWF Song Competition in the 2nd Annual SMSWF. She no longer can enter songs in the competition because her income in songwriting is over 51% of her income.
Sarah was a performing singer/songwriter for 20 years in Virginia and Chicago before she and the family moved to East Tennessee (“We were cold” is the main reason for the move). Sarah loves the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival and the many friends she has made here.
