Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival, Mike Debills, Gatlinburg, TNMichael deBills came from a musical family and has been performing from the age of 11. He plays piano, guitar and saxophone. He is also a published author with his book Music by Numbers” and has taught classes on how to read and writes studio charts from Texas A & M to Morehead KY. He has wrote articles for various magazine’s and newspapers. Michael opened Wolf Valley Productions in 1987 as a pre-production recording studio in which he has worked with over 500 songwriters within the United States, Canada and Europe. His arrangements can be heard over 7000 songs. Michael enjoys the creative end of the art. He has opened shows or preformed with artists such as Dolly Parton, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jerry Reed, George Jones, Helen Cornelus, Jim Ed Brown, Cal Smith, Sandy Patty, Sandy Posie, Hager Twins, Swayne River Boys, Alabama, Joe Stampy, Leona Williams, etc. Michael’s piano work and string arrangements can be heard on thousands of karaoke tracks. Being one of the original musicians to ever cut karaoke tracks. You can also here Michael’s piano on Mickey Gilley’s Christmas album and also Lee Greenwood’s Christmas album in the 90’s. With a draw of luck while working for TOP Records (Tennessee Outlaw Publishing) in Nashville Michael had the opportunity to have two songs recorded by Patty Weaver on the Young and Restless which entitled him to a Gold Record. Michael was staff keyboard player for WNOX Midday Merry Go Round and Tennessee Valley Barn Dance. He also has worked live radio shows for various stations throughout East Tennessee and the Southeast area of the United States. He has also worked on various such as I 40 Paradise and Nashville Network. Michael has been singing, writing and performing for 50 plus years. He currently serves as Executive Director with North American County Music Association International. Michael continues to produce, arrange for aspiring songwriters and vocalist of all ages.
