Born in Germany but raised in North Carolina, Khiana was meant to be a singer/songwriter. Her family members are all talented in varying styles of the arts; which provided Khiana with the kind of support that helps make an artist strong in what they do. Khiana’s love for music started when she picked up her first guitar at the age of four. With determination and a natural gift for music, she taught herself how to play guitar and compose her own songs by age ten. The music she writes is inspired by personal life situations, family relationships, and world issues. Her dedication to her work is best described by the nickname her father gave her, “The Ground Hog”. She was deemed this name because of her unwavering focus on a song until it is perfected. Contrary to her nickname, Khiana is an active teenager. She is an excellent student and loving sister and daughter. Her outlook on life is encouraging, optimistic, and admirable. Khiana’s love of music started at a very young age. She has been writing songs for the past several years. She has been nominated for the Carolina Music Awards as best Female Country Artist, Best Youth Artist, and Best Music Video, as well as recently winning The Forsyth County Entertainment Award for 2013 Teen Entertainer of the year.
