KarenEReynolds Award winning singer songwriter and music industry consultant, Karen E. Reynolds, will guide you through this comprehensive look at how to build your skills, as well as, your success, as a songwriter. Learn how to take a good song, and make it a great song by using effective rhyme schemes, dynamics, choosing the right melodic structure and phrasing, etc. Plus, an overview of proper industry protocol that will increase the odds when submitting songs to a publisher, songwriting competition, or for radio airplay, along with a step by step process to self critique’ your songs before pitching them. This workshop is suited for songwriters who are early in their careers, as well as, seasoned writers. Attendees are encouraged to bring along their own songs for review (time permitting) during the workshop.
 
Reynolds has received national recognition for her songwriting and is a critically acclaimed performer and vocalist. She has taught songwriting and music business for the University of Tennessee, the Kent State music workshop program, and has served on the faculty of the Tennessee Mountain Writers Conference, as well as, the Young Writers Institute. Karen is a mentor for the Country Music Hall of Fame’s prestigious ‘Words & Music in Schools’ program and is also the host and program director for a world wide radio program that has aired for over 15 years. She has served on the board of directors for a variety of music business organizations and is a frequent speaker and workshop presenter at music conferences, festivals and music industry events. As a music industry consultant, Karen provides constructive critique and consultation, whether by phone, Skype, email or in person, to independent artists and songwriters
